Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

At our elementary school we truly have special students and we care greatly for them as their teachers. Our students are in low economic status and many struggle each day. We work very hard as teachers and students to make each day meaningful and positive. We are a family at our school from staff to students and we look to give each student the means to be successful as a whole meaning academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. We look forward to bright futures of our students!

My Project

It is so important to be comfortable while you read! We are requesting cushions and a chair. Feeling comfortable and relaxed allows you to open your mind and focus on you what you are reading. Focusing while reading leads to better comprehension and fluency skills. Comprehension and fluency are necessary to be successful at all levels and third grade is a major step in reading for the future school years! Imagine you are sitting in a room with books and books to pick from. You are looking for the perfect seat to read the perfect book. Imagine now that you can pick up a comfy seat and relax while you let your imagination take over while you are reading. Successful reading starts with the perfect seat.
