My students are an amazing example of our future generation.
We have perfect attendance almost everyday and parents who are supportive and appreciative! My students truly come ready to learn everyday, always asking for more challenging work and exploring their world around them.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds and share their diversity, life experiences, and cultures with all of us. My students see our school and classroom as an extension of their family, and take great pride in being a positive contributor to our "family".
My Project
In today's world we often hear the statement, "our students will have jobs that don't even exist yet". The reality of this statement is:
Today's students will be creating 21st Century jobs as creative thinkers, problem solvers, innovators, engineers, and entrepreneurs!
This is one way to begin to close that opportunity gap!
The Sphero ball is a small robot that can be controlled through an app. Students will participate in a variety of self-driven, "passion project" challenges that include all of the STEM elements; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Students will utilize the Design Thinking model to realize real-world problems that they can use the Sphero to help solve. They will be encouraged to examine their world and envision a way they can use a robot to help solve a problem. The possibilities of this are limitless!
Through this process they will discover the power of coding which in turn develops and facilitates computer programming, an ever-increasing job in today's world!
This leads to innovation; creating better versions of what already exists, testing it, and presenting it to the world. I want to provide these opportunities to my students to allow them to explore, create, and imagine like never before! I want my students to realize the potential they have to impact today and beyond.
