My Students

My students are amazing! They teach me something new everyday about dealing with adversity and never giving up. They make me appreciate the little things, like a smile first thing on a Monday morning, zipping a coat for the first time on their own or a hug before leaving at the end of the day. They keep me in tune with the current "cool" things I should know about and are always there to help me when I need it (like finding my missing markers, phone, etc.) They remind me every day that if you can't laugh at yourself you are taking things way too seriously.

My Project

These materials have been chosen to help my students explore multi-sensory ways to learn and practice new skills in our classroom. The floor seats and lap desks will give my students an opportunity to choose varied work spaces in the room while still providing supportive seating to work in. Having a variety of manipulatives will allow students to try different options and find the materials that work best for them.

The noise cancelling headphones will allow students to work at their best by blocking auditory distractions.

Students will be able to use the trampoline to develop self-regulation skills as well as meet individual sensory needs to support their learning.
