My Students

I teach in a rural community, where most students are a generation of high school only graduates. Our students do not believe they can achieve a post-secondary education. My students are hard working, with a few of them being the sole provider for their family. Some even work two jobs in addition to attending school just to achieve the dream of being the first in their family to attend college.

Nothing should stand in your way of a dream.

In a school that is about as culturally diverse as you can get, with a majority of low income, economically disadvantaged students, each student brings something unique to the high school experience. They can take their future into​ their own hands and get the products they need.

My Project

My students need a battery grip and an external flash to take better photos for their classmates. As a journalism class, they aim to capture our students as a whole in an annual yearbook and weekly newspaper. They also submit photos to the local newspapers and are often published.

These two items would help them serve their community better, and give them to confidence to pursue even more opportunities.

Confidence and the desire to do better will always go far when educating a child in the creative world of photography. These students deserve the best, and your support can get them there.
