My Project
Blending the familiar painting techniques with the new a perspective of printmaking using monotypes provides students a new way to engage with their art making. Creating painterly monotypes is a great introduction to the world of printmaking, allowing students to expand on their prior knowledge and understanding of painting.
High school is a time when students are developing their creative voice and experimenting with materials to find the right fit for their creative release is key to their success.
Experiencing new art creation possibilities is so important in high school so students can expand their comfort zone and experience the avenues in which to create.
Using the printmaking method of monotype is another way students can express themselves and incorporate layers and complexity into their visual journaling. Providing students opportunities to reflect, respond, and process the world around them is so important when our world is changing at such an alarming rate.
This project will allow students an opportunity to combine what they know about painting and create a new form of expression through the use of Gelli Plates and monotype ink, their creations will be filled with individuality!
