My students need cleaning supplies, including three cases of Clorox Wipes and a case of paper towels, to help wipe those germs away!

My Students

My beautiful young students range in age between five to seven years old. Unfortunately, most of my students already have obstacles blocking a successful beginning to their academic and social journey. Many live in poverty, struggle with the English language and have extremely limited resources. Some of my students are homeless or are in foster care. Some are new to our country while others live with a caretaker other than their parent.

Even though they are faced with so many challenges, they come to school every day with a willingness and a desire to learn.

If you were to visit our classroom you would not know my students were faced with so many challenges because their positive energy and desire to learn are noticed right away!

My Project

Recently, many students in our building have been out sick and missed consecutive days of school. Last week two of my students were out sick. When students are not in school, they are not learning and they fall behind their peers. This is especially difficult in our school because most of our students are new to our country and are academically behind children of their own age.

I have been using my own funds to buy cleaning supplies in hopes of keeping those harmful winter germs away!

It is getting expensive. I use paper towels and Clorox Wipes, daily, to wash my student desks, tables and our whiteboards. My students use paper towels to clean their hands, wash their desks and pick-up any accidental spills that occur. Cleaning supplies are so important in keeping our classroom clean, healthy and as germ free as possible.
