My class is a 3rd grade general education class in a Title I school. I have 30 students in my class. The class comprises of children from many different ethnic backgrounds and several different languages, including Uzbek, Mandarin, Japanese, Hindu, Russian, Cantonese, Spanish, and several others. Some of these students have just arrived in the United States and are expected to jump right into the rigorous curriculum of a New York City Public School. As a first-year teacher, I think it is imperative that my students all get equal opportunity to do well in their assignments. Despite the many challenges some of my students might face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with the resources they need to succeed in my class and in life.
My students come from various cultural backgrounds, I want my classroom to be a place where we learn from each other's differences.
When students enter my room, I focus on their potential and growth. I try my hardest to teach my students about being fair and making good choices in life. I hope to inspire my students to the best of my ability.
My Project
Covid has really changed how we live. The children are constantly cleaning their areas, changing their face mask to put fresh clean ones on. Having paper towels will help them keep their spots clean. With the cold weather coming that turns into spring, the tissues will help all the runny noses. The mask are constantly ripping or getting gross, and with the lack of mask supply in the classroom, it's causing the children to have to wear gross dirty mask. Having these supplies in the classroom will be super helpful to keep the classroom germ free.
