Germ Free Classroom

My students need these items because it is very hard for our parents to purchase these things throughout the year. With flu season being so bad this year, we are asking for these items.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are very energetic and enjoy hands-on learning. This group of students enjoys hands learning and working with partners. In the classroom, I believe that students learn better through their peers. This strategy involves a lot of interaction with each other. This is a wonderful way for this group to learn and get to know their peers.

My students enjoy learning together and from each other.

I see the success from the students who were struggling light up when a peer has helped them make a connection. This is wonderful to witness and the students feel a great accomplishment when this occurs.

My Project

These materials, such as Lysol Wipes, Lysol Spray, and tissues will allow my students to feel healthy and prevent them from getting sick from others. Working in a clean environment is extremely important in the growth mindset of our students.

We always need paper and this year our school is extra short with the supply of paper.

Without paper and construction paper we can not do activities that allow the students to learn. We do not follow a program so every activity that we use in the classroom is either teacher made or from an outside source.

The other materials, such as the pencil sharpener, laminator machine, post its, construction paper and pencils are things that would make my life a little easier and environment friendly. I would be able to prepare more for the class lessons using the construction paper and laminator machine. The laminator will allow me to reuse materials not only throughout the school year but for many years to come. Pencils in a classroom come and disappear within hours. Having a back up supply of pencils with a pencil sharpener that works would save a lot of wasted time searching for a new pencil or trying to find something else to write with. I would be able to have a supply prepared for the students so that there is no time wasted in the classroom and we can learn as much as we can.

I use post it notes daily with the students. I give my students feedback on their writing activities on the post it instead of writing on the actual paper that the students did their work on. One pack of post it can last one period in our school day. My students do many hands on activities with the books in our classroom.
