My Students

My students come to school everyday excited and ready to learn new skills. They set high goals for themselves, and work hard to reach their goals. My students are very curious, and ask what seems like a million questions a day. As a teacher, I like to empower them to collaborate and share ideas in small groups. My school is very passionate about education and meeting the needs of every student. We work hard as a team, everyday, to make sure our students experience success in whatever task is at hand.

My Project

George Washington's Socks is a highly engaging novel about four kids who magically travel back into time and witness George Washington crossing the Delaware River. A class set of these novels would enable me to compose a wonderful novel study to accompany our unit on the American Revolution.

Novels like George Washington's socks bring to life history in a way a text book can't begin to touch.

Children are able to put themselves into the story when the main characters are their own age. This novel does a wonderful job of keeping historical events accurate while at the same time weaving fictional characters into the mix.
