My students need compasses for geometry lessons and the manipulatives will help them with area and volume. The tennis balls are for the feet of the chairs and desks that are scraping up the floors.

My Students
My students are a wild and crazy bunch, but they have good hearts! I teach three classes of standard 7th grade math, one honors 7th grade math, and one enrichment class. We are a magnet school, so we get students from all over the city, but we also get the kids in the surrounding neighborhoods. The school is located in a very poor section of the city, but the crime rate is very low. Our students feel safe here and we do our best to help the community around us with snacks and meals that low income students can take home over the weekends.
My Project
The tennis balls are for the feet of the chairs and desks in my classroom. The floor is getting all scraped up from students pushing in their seats and general moving around. I have seen teachers use them before and they not only save the floor, but they are quieter.
I need reliable tools for my students to use.
I bought cheap compasses for my students this year out of my own pocket. They have only used them a few times and they are falling apart. I really liked the set I choose because it also comes with manipulatives that will help the students visualize volume and area.
