This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students are Honors Geometry students at a Title I school. They've commented to me how drab and undecorated the school looks at times. I thought that for my class, we could add some colors to the blank white ceiling tiles by doing some tessellations on them to cap off the year.
It will make their environment even more beautiful and homely while adding to their geometrical knowledge of translations, reflections, and rotations!
Students will be using the ceiling tiles provided by the school in order to decorate them with their own custom made tessellations. Students will be able to make whatever they want as long as it tessellates.
I'll end up giving a grade through this project so I want to give them everything they will need to be successful. This involves lots and lots of paint, some paint brushes and dedication. The students and I have got the last part covered, but the first two are where you come in! Thanks so much in advance and good luck!
