Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

This quote connects with our project because geometry is everywhere in our lives. Students need to be able to explore using manipulatives to be able to grasp the learning concepts. These math materials allow the students to be involved.
Even though our my classroom is located in a portable building behind our campus, my third grade students enjoy coming to school each day and look forward to learning.
They come from various backgrounds and my school is designated Title I. I am very fortunate to work with an amazing group of children who challenge me daily to improve my instruction as an educator.
My Project
Imagine trying to do what architects do without any tools! That's what my students will feel like when it come to our geometry unit. I teach at a Title 1 school which basically means mostly low income. With that being said as teachers we usually spend tons of our own money to ensure our students have everything they need to be the best they can be. I am asking for math tools including a Build & Learn Geometric Shapes Kit, a 3-D Geometric Shapes Tub, and a Party Math - Geometry Problem Solving Kit. These math tools will help my students when it come to geometry expectations. They will be able to actually hold, manipulate and determine attributes of shapes that are truly challenging if they're not 3D. These tools will help ensure their success in this academic area.
