Help me give my students some resources that will allow them to reinforce concepts taught in the classroom in a fun and exciting manner.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
In my classroom finding creative and fun ways to teach students the core concepts is often a challenge. Finding basic materials to challenge and engage students can be a daunting task. In this area many students have experience with cell phones and the internet; teachers are struggling to find new and innovative ways to reach students using mixed media.
In my classroom, students will learn a great deal of their concepts using a hands-on approach.
The selected materials will allow them to see and match common geographical terms, U.S. states and capitals, and other social studies related activities where cards and pictures are used to enhance what they are learning. This will help them grasp the concept using a different modality. I am looking for social studies resources I can add to my class and to use with future classes to enhance our current curriculum. With the addition of these activities, students will leave our school inspired to learn more about an amazing world.
This project will allow the students to experience the world around us. The cards and activities can be placed in a center for the students to explore and share freely. The students in my class have a love for learning and I believe that hands-on learning experiences have a place in my classroom for many years to come.
The activities in this project will allow students to not only learn the geographical concepts but the materials will allow the students to experience places and land-forms as well as continents and oceans outside of the traditional textbooks.
Hands-on learning has a definite place in my classroom. The game format of the materials will allow for center activities to be not only engaging but interesting for the learner.
