I am a second grade teacher and I love to teach math. However, I prefer to teach math with my hands and letting my students use their hands. I am requesting help with the purchase of two sets of GeoBlocks. GeoBlocks are hardwood blocks that come in an array of sizes and shapes. They are three-dimensional and are wonderful teaching tools to teach students spatial visualization, an important state goal for second graders. I have a wide variety of activities that I would love to invite my students to investigate, but am in need of the tools. Due to the cost of the blocks, I am unable myself to purchase them and have already extinguished all local resources of acquiring these great mathematical teaching tools. I have already seen success other teachers in my district have had with the blocks and would love the opportunity to invite my students to achieve the same success.
