The 8-9-year-olds in my classroom love to learn and work together to discover new things every day. We have a strong focus on inquiry-based learning. My students have a growth mindset, knowing they must take risks and try new things. We "fail forward" in our classroom, learning and growing from our successes and failures alike.
My students are highly inquisitive and love learning new things.
They are highly curious and enjoy hands-on discovery learning. They love building, exploring, creating and sharing what they learn with others. My students love "Genius Hour" where they choose a topic of interest to them, research that topic, and then share what they've learned with the class.
My Project
Until now, our "Genius Hour" has only been about research and sharing. I'd like to expand our Genius Hour to include more STEM activities. These genius kits will allow students the opportunity to explore, build, create, design and improve as they work through the challenges. The kits include fun-filled and award-winning learning games that have students interact with actual handheld pieces & an iPad, bringing a child's game pieces & actions to life.
These interactive games will help my students develop their STEM skills, improving creativity and problem-solving skills.
Students actively create, build and design, rather than passively watching the iPad. Games are designed for beginner to expert levels and enable the continuation of learning.
