My students are excited learners from a low income area. They are thrilled to complete STEM challenges and want to learn as much as they can about the world around them. I work with every student in my building from Kindergarten all the way to 5th grade.
I teach in a very small district, that has a high poverty rate, so I have over 90% of my students receiving a free breakfast and lunch.
My students are sponges who love to do science experiments and explore any technology that I can put in front of them.
My Project
My students are very creative learners that are encouraged to see things for more than just what they are normally used for. The KEVA blocks are simple blocks of wood that make my students think outside of the box and create buildings, bridges, household items and even animals. They would be able to use the gears to create movable objects and actually use a trial and error process to improve their objects.
It is essential for students to learn how to work together and be creative at solving problems, and these materials will help them learn just how to do that.
They will work together as they design and create different projects throughout the year. These materials are durable and will be used for years to come.
