My students need STEM activities for stations in our classroom. Activities such as Klutz Lego chain reaction will allow my students to use our Legos to create new projects. The K'Nex activity will encourage problem solving.
My second graders are always on the move. We work in all areas of our room utilizing as much space as possible. My class is very energetic and enjoys learning in creative and new ways.
I work in a low socio-economic district, but you wouldn't know it if you met my students.
Their energy and enthusiasm more than make up for what we wish we had. We work hard, but we have as much fun as possible by learning in engaging ways.
My Project
My students have a very busy day with their core subjects such as math, reading and phonics. I began using different resources to have STEM days where they are allowed to spread out across the classroom, get comfortable, and let their creativity fly.
I want to encourage my students to use their creative energy in ways that can blossom into future careers.
There are so many opportunities in the science field and I want all of my students to realize their potential as future problem solvers and scientists.
Materials such as a new Lego book and cards will encourage my students to find new and creative ways to build using Legos. Resources like the Marble Genius, Skoolzy Straws, Domino Rally, and Engino Discovering will allow my students to work in groups, problem solve, and be engineers in the making. The students have so much fun with STEM projects they don't even realize how much they are actually LEARNING!!
