I tested out using morning bins in my 4th grade classroom this year and I have loved the creativity sparked in my classroom so early in the morning! Students come in and are excited to have some time to explore and create while waiting for the day to begin. It has been a great way to start waking up their brains without requiring morning work or having them on their chromebooks.
I hope by introducing some new and improved morning bin supplies, I will see even more student engagement throughout the day by starting the day off right!
My students this year have begged for more building related materials so I think the straw constructors and brain flakes will allow them to build creatively and be a big hit with my students next year. I am excited to see them explore with the STEM explorers kits which can also be used in science class. I have never not had a group that loved to create cards and crafts so I am looking forward to adding an arts and craft bin to the morning selection.
