My students are amazing! They come to school each day ready to learn. Our school is a charming, urban school near the heart of downtown Knoxville. Our student population reflects a diverse community. Seventy-five percent of our students are on free breakfast and lunch, as we are a school-wide recipient of Title I funds.
Every child that comes through my door deserves to have the opportunity to fall in love with STEM.
Educating children and providing them with the tools to learn is the quickest way to change the future. Please help me change the future, one child at a time.
My Project
This STEM cart will be fully stocked with a variety of materials geared towards my youngest learners. The mobility of the rolling storage cart will allow me to quickly move enough materials for the entire classroom to use at once. The bins will store the gears, interlocking discs, marble maze, straws and connectors, and the take apart toys so the children can quickly begin without losing precious time.
The addition of this STEM cart to my budding makerspace will provide the children with opportunities to construct, discover, test, and explore the world around them!
Engaging in creative thinking and play encourages our children to think like an inventor and elementary aged children are at the perfect age to introduce to STEM as they are already naturally curious and want to create on their own.
