Help me give my students the supplies that they need to ensure a successful year in math. We are looking to get an Epson scanner, Swingline Electric 3 Hole Punch, Expo dry erase markers, and other helpful items.
My students are wonderful! They come from seven different feeder schools into a junior high that houses over 720 students. This is a culture shock for most of them. We have 67.8% of our students on free lunch and 6.1% are on reduced price lunch. Many of my students do not have support at home due to both parents working long hours or they aren't able to help them. I need to help them learn as much as I can while they are with me.
My students are goal oriented and they love a challenge.
My Project
These materials will impact student learning in many ways. First of all, the Epson scanner will enable us to upload student work to our Google drives. Showing your work in math is extremely important for the students' learning and teacher feedback. Students will be able to use paper and pencil to work out the problems, and then save their work into their Google drive. The Swingline hole punch will help my students keep their binders organized when given graphic organizers or other important materials. The heavy duty hole puncher will help maximize instructional time by limiting the amount of time it will take to punch holes in their papers.
There are many supplies that are very helpful to ensure that the learning styles of every student are met.
For example, we need patty paper to help students visually see how objects move when we are doing transformations in out Geometry lessons. We also incorporate dry erase boards weekly in class. We no longer have enough markers or erasers for us to keep doing this. I also help meet the needs of all students by requesting cardstock to create long lasting manipulatives.
Other materials that we are asking for will help our class throughout the year. In order to ensure a successful year, we need more pencils, markers, storage buckets to keep supplies at hand, and ink and paper for our class printer.
