My Students

I am a teacher at a Title I school with 85% of our students receiving free or reduced-priced lunch. The students I teach are energetic and easily distracted fifth graders who are very curious learners. These students crave technology and collaboration opportunities.

My goal is to provide them and students to follow with ample opportunities to be creative and collaborate through engaging learning experiences.

Our students must be provided with hands-on experiences to achieve skills needed to be college and career ready.

My Project

Robotics will provide my students with opportunities to design and build robots. The Mindstorms kit also allows them to program the robots to complete a task which will require measurement, problem solving, and coding skills.

This highly motivating project will have them collaborating within teams, which will build teamwork, as well as leadership skills.

It also is an exciting way for my students to be actively engaged with a project based learning opportunity that meets our standards for STEM education. Robotics is a powerful use of visual learning to bridge the gap for kids who struggle with math. They can use their senses to understand it.
