My sixth grade ELA and Social Studies class is full of heart, discovery, learning, growing, and loving! I have students from many different backgrounds, most of whom are receiving free or reduced-price lunch because of their financial situations.
A majority of my students do not read on grade level, but this does not make them inferior.
They thrive when given the opportunity to read texts that make sense to them, and they give all of their effort to better themselves. I am hoping to enrich their lives and improve their learning one day at a time! I would not be in this profession if I didn't love and care for each face that I see every morning. Let's ensure that every child's future is bright!

My Project
As we begin to gear up for next year, the reality of how low the resources have gotten becomes a reality! For example, I am left with only 1 gluestick!! I am asking for a variety of different of school supplies, organizers, book bins, creative materials, etc!
My main goal is to always provide a safe, engaging, and well-supplied environment for all of my learners.
Specifically, I am asking for colored pencils, gluesticks, scissors, clipboards, paper, and tape for every day necessities. I am also asking for book bins to organize and store my class library and all of my new books, and teacher supplies such as post-its, dry erase makers, a roll on dry erase board, binder clips, etc. On top of that, I am asking for a class set of headphones, as listening is a huge piece for 6th grade standards. My ELL students and Special Education students really benefit from listening to readings, words, questions, etc. All of these different items truly make a difference in how the classroom looks, feels, and runs.
