Help me give my students the opportunity to learn more about misunderstood animals. They do not have a lot of interaction with these types of animals, and we want to show our kids why these animals are awesome!
I teach at a low income school located in Oakland, California. My students are learning in a Special Day Class, and we focus on humanities, math and science. We are located in a low income neighborhood and most of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
I am now taking the role of maintaining 30+ SDC kiddos who have very little in terms of hygienic supplies, and general resources.
My students are very hard workers, and have very big hearts. They love animals, and sports, and I want to bring that into our classroom as much as possible.
We are reaching out to For Goodness Snakes to show our special education students the beauty of animal science, and reptile behavior. We normally go to the zoo to get these experiences but often they are not as hands on as we would like. Brian Gundy is able to really bring animal science up close and personal to all of our students.
Our kiddos love animals, and have a lot of compassion for them many want to work with animals when they get older.
We think that this would be an awesome opportunity for our students to get a better understanding of what it takes to work with animals, and develop goals for their futures.
