My Students

My fifth grade students want to learn. They come from unique backgrounds. My room consists of students with special needs, students from low income families, and students from rural farms. The majority of my class is economically disadvantaged.

Despite all their challenges, my students are a great group of children that really want to excel.

Each student has set goals for where they want to be academically later this year. They have also chosen strategies to help them reach their goal. Now we want to extend their opportunities in new directions.

My Project

Students need a chance to move in their classroom. They need a variety of places to sit and learn. We have a variety of seats, but no one spot that we can all meet comfortably. I'd like to add this large carpet area to the classroom so we also can have a comfortable place to meet as a class.

We will meet on the carpet daily to grow as a classroom community around social skills and academics.

The students need a place where they feel like they belong and they have a voice. They need a place where they can practice their social skills in a safe environment. They need a place where we can laugh and grow together. By supporting this project, you will be providing a tool to help our classroom community grow.
