I have the honor of working with an amazing group of seven and eight year old's. I teach in an area where many families struggle financially, therefore the students are limited to the amount of experiences and tools to help guide their education.
My students are an energetic group of students with the potential to do amazing things in life.
I want to provided my students with a safe, warm, designated area that will create an optimal learning experience. Creating a environment where students can learn is the key to success!
My Project
Gathering around a warm, large, welcoming carpet will provide a an area for the students to learn new information, positively interact with each other, and focus on the materials being taught.
A cozy carpet area will be the perfect place to learn essential skills, while being able work together and build classroom community.
In addition to whole group instruction, the students will also be able to use the carpet for small group times, and individual reading time. The carpet will be the meeting place for daily classroom meetings that build social skills and classroom community.
I currently have two small rugs that do not provide enough space for my second grade students. A new cozy carpet area will provide a warm, clean spot for students to interact with each other, while still having their own personal space.
