Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are hard working driven individuals who are looking to exceed all expectations and set the bar high for their families and their communities by excelling in academics and becoming strong leaders within their communities. Many of our students come from low-income backgrounds and have not had the opportunity to attend a high performing school yet in their lives.
My students are motivated to make tremendous growth in their academics this year and push themselves to develop into scholars who are aware of and working to right social injustice.
My Project
We have a group of Level 4 English Language Learner students who are working hard to exit our ELL program. As a way to help them build their skills, we are trying to provide them with a guided reading class that helps them to build skills while also reading very high quality texts.
