This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students will be learning how to tend a garden this year. We will be starting our seeds indoors this month and will eventually up-pot them into our raised beds outdoors. I would like to have all the items they need to be successful with their first garden. Every item on the list I believe serves a purpose in doing that for them. The right soil makes for better drainage and the right nutrients seedlings need to thrive. Having fertilizer or plant food for the plants is needed to help them thrive as well. I have added some of the seeds I know will be a little easier to grow and some I think they really would enjoy harvesting to eat.

My goal is to help them have a memorable and successful experience with their first garden in the hope that perhaps in the future they will create a garden of their own.
