Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our Garden club is thriving thanks to all your generous support. Our students have enjoyed putting together all of the materials that have been donated so far. We have an incredible group of diverse students who range in age from 9th-12th grade. We continue to add to our established Pollinator garden, and look forward to harvesting new crops for our cafeteria. The garden is considered a safe place that is free from judgment and open to all: a place where students and staff go to plant seeds, take care of the plants, and most importantly provide a welcoming place to relax, de-stress, and be proud of their whole-school environment. By connecting farm practices to nutrition, students will increase positive personal health outcomes while building community awareness and continued garden participation.

My Project

Over the past 5 years our garden club has continued to grow. Now it is thriving with more members than ever. With the additional members, we need more tools. These pruners, shovels, trowels, hoses, and other tools will help our members harvest plants and vegetables used in our school cafeteria meals and available to all students on campus.

The club organizes work days every month to improve the garden, harvest vegetables and beautify our school campus.

Open to all students, your donations will ensure we have enough of the proper tools for all of our members. Thank you!
