I teach an amazing group of second grade dual language learners. We are a culturally diverse school and most of the students are English Language Learners. Despite their challenges, they are very inquisitive and eager to learn.
My school is a Title I school which means most students qualify for free breakfast and lunch.
We strive to meet all of their needs as they strive for academic excellence. Their tenacity to learn encourages me to create a fun learning environment so they are actively engaged in learning every day.
This year has been challenging but my students are always ready for a challenge! My students love learning about Science. These garden kits will allow my students to each grow their own garden at school or at home. Students will keep a journal to log observations and as they watch their seeds grow into plants. They will illustrate and label parts of the the plants to demonstrate understanding of how the parts of the plants work. This is a hands-on learning activity that will keep my students excited to learn.
Gardening is a healthy, fun, and fulfilling activity that will develop new skills and help students learn more about science.
This garden kit is an opportunity for children to enjoy a science activity together with their families. Growing a garden will give students hands-on learning away from the computer. Gardening teaches the importance of nutrition and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. My students will enjoy getting their hands dirty learning about plants. Thank you for your support!
