My Students
We have an incredible group of diverse students that range in age from 9th-12th grade. We are excited about a new space on our campus that will house a brand new garden area at our school. The garden will be considered a safe place that is free from judgement and open to all. A place that students and staff go to plant seeds, take care of the plants and most importantly provide a welcoming place to relax, de-stress, and be proud of their whole-school environment. By connecting farm practices to nutrition, students will increase positive personal health outcomes while building community awareness and continued garden participation.
My Project
We are excited to build a new garden at our school. Our new space serves as a safe, inviting area for students and staff. The storage shed will allow our club to store our tools in a safe protected environment. The wheel for our barrow is essential in digging holes and transporting soil.
The garden will provide a safe, nurturing environment for our students to learn about gardening and give them the necessary tools to sustain the Garden club at our school.
Teachers will have an opportunity to use the site as an outdoor classroom for our life science courses.
