This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
At our school, we promote creative expression and exploration. Our students participate in many programs such as robotics, dance, and vocal music. Our students are also very community oriented and spend a lot of time after school working on projects, tutoring, improving the school environment, or socializing during after school activities.
Our scholars come from many different backgrounds which creates a very diverse learning environment.
Heywood students are also world travelers, activist, musicians, dancers and singers. This fund would help bring the learned concepts, ideas and content to life in very meaningful and tangible way.
My Project
The iPads will continue to enhance the creative arts classroom that I strive to create. My classroom is a place where scholars are encouraged to explore which students really enjoy. Students are taught how to work the software GarageBand which is a recording software housed on all apple products. It is an introduction to record engineering. However, not only are students introduced to record engineer in a fun, interactive way, but they also dive into writing and producing their own tracks and original compositions.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and enjoy collectively joining their peers in music creation through this program.
