Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have special needs like Autism, Specific Learning Disabilities and Speech and Language Impairments, among other disabilities. These students live in a tough area of South Los Angeles, where many are considered to come from very, low-income households.
My students enjoy coming to school and learning as much as they possibly can.
They put forth effort in all of their school lessons and activities. They will benefit from any materials and supplies that we can get donated through DonorsChoose.org.
My Project
Financial literacy is an important topic to address and to have my students master. Since I work with students from kindergarten to 6th grade I need a huge variety of financial literacy games that are appropriate for all the levels that I work with.
I am requesting games that will help my students learn the value of money and know how to identify and count money.
Games like the allowance game and cash register that I am requesting will help my older students count and manage money. The puzzle games and coin manipulatives that I am requesting will help my younger students begin to identify and know the value of money.
