Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are advanced learners. They thrive on challenge and acceleration. They all learn quickly and try to intake as much as possible. My students are very curious at their age and they often ask thoughtful questions. My students have an advanced ability to reason and draw conclusions from given information.
My students really enjoy learning something new each day.
Some of them come to class hungry and others come without proper hygiene. They are diverse and love using their creativity, exploring hands-on-activities, and reading books, and they love to make their own things. Many of my students are English Language Learners, and they love books and learning. My students come from different backgrounds but come together like a family. Many of my students struggle financially but they persevere. They are the future engineers, doctors, artists, and leaders. They love to learn in history class.
My Project
Studies have shown that engagement and retention soar when we move beyond talking and bullet points on slides. An effective tool would be the Tiny Pop app. Where my female students will have the opportunity to design and build their own apps and games while learning our class material. We need to engage them to spur their desire to learn.
