My students need the iPads to explore mathematics in a different medium other than a traditional lecture in the classroom.

My Students

My students have not yet discovered that mathematics is needed in all areas of academia. My students come to school and greet me by name. They are polite and are fun to be with. Due to the nature of the school, what is needed in the classrooms comes primarily from families and the community. The families do their best to support the teachers, but sometimes it is not enough to get what we need to foster learning. My students are eager to learn and are ready to take their learning to the next level.

My Project

Students of this generation are immersed in their devices. They love video games and spend most of their time challenging their friends or strangers through technology. Having iPads will allow my students to improve their math skills through educational gaming applications. As a supplement to the standardized curriculum, the apps will help students either build a stronger foundation or master concepts that have been taught in the classroom. Students will also have the opportunity to learn how to build apps of their own through coding or make real-world connections through mathematics. My students are eager to learn how to build and create using math concepts and having the resources will help them do so.
