My students need materials that can be done independently while I am teaching small group lessons. These file folder games are perfect for keeping them engaged and learning during their independent time.
My class consists of a sweet group of 21 students. They are a very busy group and love hands-on materials and being able to choose activities that they are interested in. We have a wide range of abilities with some students reading proficiently while others are working to secure their sounds and letters. My school is a charter school so we come from a wide geographical area. Our school is located in a rural setting. Our school does qualify for Title 1 status.
My students need games and activities that focus on the alphabet, letter recognition, and writing, as well as math games to explore at independent learning time. Our students will use these materials to explore counting, make letters and sounds and then words! They will have fun science and social studies topics to explore as well. They will be able to use these games independently and with partners during our whole group and small group time, learning letters and sounds as they make words, numbers, and sets as we explore counting and many other skills. Your generous donation for our project will improve our Kindergarten classroom by building stronger readers and writers. This will change our students' lives by helping them feel successful at an early age and making school fun and enjoyable.
