My students need games for inside recess and for math small group time. With the weather in the north country so unpredictable we often times have to do indoor recess.
My classroom is located in upstate New York. I have 21 students in a general education setting. I have 6 resource room students. Our district has three goals that I continue to strive for with my students every year!
I will implement methods and strategies to encourage student engagement in the classroom by creating learning environments that are active, collaborative, rigorous and foster learning relationships.
I will put systems in place to promote a socially and emotionally safe learning environment for all my students by helping them develop a sense of self-worth and feel effective as they deal with daily responsibilities and challenges.
I will develop measurable goals that ensure a rigorous curriculum for students. I will do this by using student performance data to drive instruction and decisions.
My Project
My students need more games to use during inside recess. Also games that I can use to motivate them to learn tricky concepts like synonyms and antonyms, multiplication and division facts, and etc. When we make learning more interactive and fun the kids find the purpose and strive for excellence. I plan on using the Mr. Potato Head as a whole class incentive for behavior; when he is put together the whole class gets a reward. The totes and bins are to organize the games and books in the classroom so that they are easily accessible for all the students.
