My Students
My students have brilliant minds and big goals! They attend a Title I school in the District of Columbia that serves 100% economically disadvantaged families. Most of my students are English Language Learners who are learning the content and English at the same time.
My students are invested in their education, love to read, and are growing as civic leaders in their communities.
My students care about each other and the environment and want to make the world a better place!
My Project
Recess is an enjoyable time for students to engage with each other while having more flexible fun. During recess, students learn social skills like interacting with others, sharing, and communicating.
For indoor recess, I would like support in providing my students with opportunities to continue their their love for recess while engaging in games, that they will enjoy, which practice academic skills in a creative way.
My students are learning how to grapple with new vocabulary in complex text, which is supported by the word games like Boogle. My students are creative and love to build, the Gears games support learning about mechanics. These games will expose students to different ways of thinking and exploring the world while building their social skills with their friends. Game days, during recess, will provide avenues to continuing learning and academic growth in a super fun way!
