Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember playing Candy Land with your family? What about Memory? My students need fun games that will enhance their reading skills but also are fun to play.
My students are higher achieving students who love to be challenged!
Our school is a Title I school so funds are limited to purchase enrichment items for the classroom. I have 20+ high achieving students who need fun ways to challenge them to go to the next level. The students have a desire to learn but need materials to help facilitate that level of learning.
My Project
These game sets will be used throughout the school day and school year. The games will be used when the students complete their classwork to extend the lessons and their learning. Ordering the games that are geared to the end of 3rd grade to 5th grade will help challenge my students to reach their personal educational goals. These games will also be used during after school tutoring for my high achieving students. By creating this reading club my goal is to use the games to help push my students on each of the standards that we are working on in class. By challenging them in their skills work my goal is to encourage higher level critical thinking and processing that will in turn take their reading comprehension to the next level.
These games will add an extra level of enrichment to my classroom that these students need.
By giving to this project and helping to fund these games into my classroom you are giving 20+ students the chance to be challenged within their reading levels. Students need to be given room to grow and these games give my students that ability to grow and work on increasing their reading comprehension.
