Help me give my students board games to help them work on social skills and manners during our Games Club. Kids use games like the Gears! Gizmo set, Exploding Kittens, and Yeti or Not to help learn how to work cooperatively.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in grades 1st through 8th! They all come from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school has a full-inclusion special education program, which means that our Special Day Class students are all fully mainstreamed into the general education program. This is a great opportunity for our students to learn kindness and compassion.
Many of our students don't have the basic necessities for life, so our school strives to provide students with everything they need for a safe, happy, healthy life.
My Project
Twice a week at lunch recess, the school counselor and I run a Games Club for grades 1-8. Any student is welcome to come in and join in on a board game, legos or gears. The counselor and I facilitate game play, emphasizing good social skills and manners. Anywhere from 10-40 kids come in for Games Club on any given day.
Many students express how they've never played board games before.
Games like Dos, and Don't Break the Ice teach good turn taking skills, patience and conversation skills that many students lack today.
Help us help our kiddos become socially competent, well-rounded students!
