My Students
Our school is the most diverse school in which I have had the privilege to work! We have students who are new to the United States, coming from many countries around the world. We are also a school in the inner city; thus we demonstrate the diversity of the United States--diversity through economic status, disabilities, abilities, gender identities, and the ways we learn. Our students not only love to learn, they love to play and get to know each other and their environment.
My Project
AS a diverse community, Ramsey Staff attempt to encourage and provide incentives in various ways to our student population. One way we do this is through Incentive Time that students earn when they've accomplished goals/ assignments.
We are in need of games students can play during earned incentive time. We are specifically seeking games students can play with each other and with staff... to engage relationships and have fun.
Through the use of games (while they are celebrating), they learn to interact together, negotiate, to be a gracious winner, learn its ok to lose, and various strategies to help in academics.
