My students are incoming kindergartners in an urban area. This is going to be their first time in a rigorous, full-day classroom setting. For many of the students, this is their first time in school. They are so full of energy and ready to learn. I would love for them to have an excellent start to their first year of learning or their foundation as I like to call it! I want them to be able to do so with all the necessary resources readily available.
After our first week of class and assessments, we found that many of our children are at a preschool level in both reading and math. They need more practice with identifying both letters (upper and lower case) and numbers.
These games will help them to identify numbers, work on number order, and to count.
The will also gain skills in identifying upper and lower case letters, matching the upper and lower case letters together, and even learning colors. These are basic skills that are so important for children to know in order to be successful the first full year of school.
