As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many obstacles they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences in our classroom.
My second-grade classroom is filled with 25 energetic students, who are creative, clever, and spontaneous.
They are always moving and love to read. Our school is an International Baccalaureate school in Cleveland. We always make sure to start each day with a high-five, handshake, or a hug.
The materials in this project will be used to help make learning fun and engaging for my students. I am requesting a variety of games to help achieve this goal. These games will help reinforce specific skills in the following areas: math, reading, critical thinking, and speaking.
I want my students to know that learning can be fun!
Learning does not always have to be done with a book, paper, or pencil. These games will be introduced throughout the year in our daily rotations to reinforce what we are learning in the classroom or as a way to review previous skills. They will also be used to have a little fun as well!
