Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative and have a drive for learning. Some of them have learning disabilities and makes comprehension a little challenging. They are contained in the general education classroom. This is a great concept because they are not set apart from their peers.
I love each one of my students the same.
When I see them working hard to retain what they have read, it makes my heart smile. I enjoy reading and would like to lead by example for my students.
My Project
My students come from many grade levels. They have a variety of learning disabilities and I would love for them to feel comfortable while learning. These games will encourage them to become more confident with their learning abilities. Some of my students tend to get frustrated during classroom instruction because they content may seem too hard. These games gives them an outlet to take a break for a few minutes or two.
The students will feel as though they are playing games, but learning at the same time.
Games such as Parts of Speech bingo allows me to informally assess their comprehension while they are seeing it as fun and not a task. Each student is different and their learning environment should be as well.
