This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
There seems to be a perception that gaming has a detrimental impact on children’s development. Nothing could be further from the truth. Playing games may be something that can enhance a child’s learning and development. Research has revealed gaming can help students who experience attention disorders. With your help and the resources from AKJ Education, you can help transition my classroom from a traditional I do, you do, we do classroom to a fully immersive hands-on experience both in the classroom and at home. Take a moment to think about a child you may know and reflect on their opinion about homework. My goal is to have education be a positive all-around experience. The utilization of board games, researched-based gaming applications, and student input isn't anything new. What is new is the students we are serving. We must bring our classrooms into the 21st century and beyond. Help me grow a classroom of innovators, strategic-thinkers, explorers, and students who embrace and look forward to learning in and outside of the classroom. Will you take a chance with me?
