My students need to have a greater opportunity to engage with their parents at home. Donating these games to our scholar & their parents will allow families to have fun, laughter, and play while learning!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My scholars come from a poverty stricken area where many count them out. Let me say, they are smart, intelligent, and ready to learn when they are given the opportunity. I would like to collect educational games that can be utilized to educate our parents about how to utilize games for educational purposes. For example, arts, crafts, games that require scholars to utilize their hands assist in building stronger motor skills. I would like to purchase games that can be sent home with the families so that engagement can begin at home with their scholar. Some of the games that would assist with literacy, math, and science would be: Sight Word Bingo, Scrabble, Math Bingo, Boggle Jr, Sorry, and Monopoly to name a few.
My Project
Providing games for our families will allow them to enjoy a fun time with their scholar. This will also allow families to better engage with scholars, both at home and at school. It is my hope that, this will provide a great opportunity to educate scholars by addressing: literacy, mathematical, and motor skills. There is hope that games such as Math Bingo, Candy Land, and others will be utilized to better prepare our scholars to become stronger, brighter 21st century scholars. Their utilization of these games will allow us to have more family game nights to demonstrate how games can be utilized to educate scholars about literacy, math, etc. We are in hopes that you will agree that these skills are imperative in today's society!!
