This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live very close to the San Ysidro border in California. My school is in a low-income/high poverty area. 100% of the school receives free lunch based on socioeconomic status. Spanish is their native language and many struggle in school academically.

Even though my students have many challenges in life, they are dreamers.

They believe in working hard and becoming the best they can be. They have perseverance. They are so appreciative and sweet children that have so little. I'd like for them to have more.

My Project

Last month we had a project funded for some basketballs from Donorschoose.org. We need a little assistance to finish off the project we started.

Ball bags, bases and cones are needed for us to play games.

Basketballs and soccer balls are rolling around the classroom. We need help with carrying them and storing them. Ball bags are exactly what we can use. We can also use some cones to stay in our area while playing games, and some bases to run around when we play kick ball.

So our small, but sweet project needs just a few things to make our PE equipment complete.
