Help me give my students ways to better understand economics and government in a game like setting.

Every time I tell someone I teach fourth grade, the response is usually the same.
“Ahh, I feel bad for you.
That’s the age of attitude.”
Well, yes, my students do have a little bit of attitude, but don’t we all from time to time? I love each and every one of my students even on their very worst days because I have learned that they love me even on my worst days. I believe in making their learning environment as fun and engaging as possible, so they look forward to coming each and every day instead of hating school.
I always tell my students to not judge a book by its cover. Despite knowing the percentage of students that come from extremely low-income households and that all of them get free breakfast and lunch, I have students who work hard and do the best they can.
I want my students to understand that we are all different. We look different, we think differently, we have different backgrounds and we live differently. But in knowing all of that, we can come together in our learning and succeed together. My students are striving towards learning and growing together.
There is one thing for sure, teaching economics and government can be extremely boring. Financial literacy is not the most fun thing to learn about for students. I mean think about it, were you worried about income and savings in the fourth grade? Most likely that answer would be no.
Bringing a game like environment to student learning will help students want to know more about these social studies topics.
Getting students excited about learning is something that I strive for everyday. I am always incorporating games into our other subjects. When a student finally asked me if there was a game they could play to practice their economics lesson, I set out to find something that I could incorporate in. I want every student to not only want to learn the content but to have fun learning it.
