This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My classroom is located in a middle school in a very low-income area of our city. My kids usually have a difficult time acquiring even the most basic of educational supplies such as paper and pencils, never mind creative supplies such as calculators, paper, markers, and colored pencils. Each day our kids come to school and are usually unprepared for the day. Whenever a teacher can provide missing resources, it is a win for them.

They are great kids that deserve all the support they can get.

My Project

This project will make a difference because it will provide children from an inner city with resources that are badly needed. Over 90% of our children come from low income households. Most of the time they struggle to even have the most basic educational resources. Providing our students with new resources that can be used in school daily really has a positive influence on their educational lives.

These balls will be used for all boys home games and will be used in gym classes during the week.

These basketballs will be a great resource for our students and will be used by our school team and in gym class on a regular basis. These basketballs will give our kids a piece of new equipment they can be proud of.
