My students need a more creative and engaging way to learn and apply grammar knowledge. These books have specific passages that will aid in the teaching of grammar, and tie into our reading lessons.
My 5th grade students come from all different kinds of socioeconomic backgrounds. They are determined children. They grow immensely throughout the year with the encouragement from not only myself, but their other classmates. Together, we build an environment for creativity, emotions, collaboration, understanding, support, and a sense of belonging.
My students have a heart of gold and strive to improve their lives.
They come to school everyday carrying weight on their shoulders, but continue to fight to grow in the classroom. Once the first onion layer is pulled back, you find a student who would do anything to improve.
My Project
The books for this project provide areas and applications to learn correct grammar usage. Through these books, my students will learn and apply correct grammar in their school work as well as have the tools they will need in the future. They will be able to use their love of reading in the classroom in order to connect the reading and language arts.
My students struggle with grammar knowledge and application, and these mentor books will help provide the missing piece.
My students need these books to not only learn and apply grammatical correctness but to also expand upon their love of reading and learn the power of words!
