The students at Galileo are eager to learn more about the world and are curious to stay engaged. We will be using this technology to help them stay informed about updates and be connected to resources. We hope that the more informed students can take advantage of these opportunities and context.
Galileo students love to learn and stay engaged in and outside of the classroom.
Our school has over nineteen hundred students from diverse backgrounds in an urban environment. Our school has a high concentration of English Language Learners and students who are on free or reduced price lunches. We are also very driven. We won the Newsweek's America's Top High Schools Award in 2014, and hope to continue to improve the communication between students, parents and our staff.
My Project
These new technology tools such as the LED TVs and Asus Chrome Box desktops will help in so many ways. They will help our school disseminate information and celebrate our learning in an efficient and engaging manner. The television screens will be placed in key areas of the school: cafeteria, main office, and school entrance area. Additionally we will employ a web-based, social media sharing platform (http://www.tintup.com/) to help us display the information via chrome box around the school. We hope students can be more engaged and in tune with the information which would allow us to have more educated students.
We know that by engaging our students and staff members with this type of twenty-first century platform and equipment, we'll be able to capture and celebrate the fantastic activities, events, and learning opportunities that take place across our campus each day.
